Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year!

The OBJECTIVE of College Prep English 12 is to increase communication skills (listening, thinking, reading, writing, presenting) so students can move efficiently from high school to a four-year college situation, to give an appreciation for cultural backgrounds with an emphasis on British literature, and to encourage lifelong learning. For a description of the curriculum, grading, etc., look at the semester syllabus (COMING SOON) in Section Files below.

Week 7: October 5-9
 
Do editing sentences and/or journal prompt each day you are in attendance. Keep in the correct section of your journal.

Monday 5: Discuss the difference between “showing” and “telling” in an essay. 
     Complete the prewriting for your life-view essay. Plan your essay.
     Read “The Nun’s Priest’s Tale” in PHL 118-38 and prepare for a graded discussion tomorrow. 
Tuesday 6: Participate in a graded discussion of “The Nun’s Priest’s Tale.” (15 points)
Wednesday 7: In computer lab M3, write the first draft of your life-view essay. Show at least 2 pages to your instructor. (10 points)
Thursday 8: Conference with teacher about first draft. Choose one paragraph to discuss.
Friday 9: Receive Senior Project booklet and instructions.
